
Tweedy is best known in the UK for his role in Giffords Circus and The Everyman Theatre’s pantomimes.
He has been at the heart of Giffords Circus for over 17 years bringing new comic routines to the show each year, he is taking this year off to pursue other projects. He is accomplished in most circus skills, is proficient at playing various musical instruments and regularly performs magic.
This year Tweedy is taking a break from Giffords to do his own show Tweedy’s Massive Circus which was a five star hit at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024.
Tweedy toured theatre’s for a few years with Cirque Berserk which included runs in the West End.
He has created a number his own shows, which have had sell out audiences, standing ovations and received critical acclaim.
During lockdown he teamed up with The Barn Theatre, writing and performing a weekly live show for twelve weeks, to entertain and reassure children of the situation.
He has also appeared at The Everyman Theatre in acting roles, as Estragon in Waiting for Godot, Dock brief, White Rabbit, Red Rabbit which was also live streamed and most recently as Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream which then went on tour.
He has won many comedy awards and his talents are in much demand in circus, theatre, TV and film, both at home and abroad. He has built up a cult following which includes a number of celebrities.
For two years,
Tweedy was featured clown on Ringling Brothers, and Barnum and Bailey shows, playing such prestigious venues as Madison Square Garden.
In 2023 Tweedy was awarded the British Empire Medal in King Charles III’s very first New Year Honours list.
In 2025 he received an Horary Fellowship Award from the University Of Gloucestershire.

Following a smash-hit tour, a riotous run at the Edinburgh Fringe and unmissable London shows that left audiences roaring with laughter, Tweedy returns this Easter with Tweedy’s Massive Circus: The Big Number 2.
A gloriously silly, laugh-out-loud spectacular for everyone aged 3 to 103.
The circus is back on the road and will open in Oxfordshire, then head to the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and N. Wiltshire.
